Government of Senegal, host of Feed Africa Summit (Dakar 2) In partnership with the African Development Bank, will hold a press conference to bring down the curtain on the three-day event.
Elie Ngoulie Ndiaye of Senegal, Ministry of Agriculture, Rural Equipment and Food Sovereignty and Dr. Akinwumi Adesina, President of the African Development Bank, will address the press conference on the results of the three-day summit.
summit, title Feeding Africa: Food Security and ResilienceIt was organized by the African Development Bank Group, headed by President Macky Sall of Senegal, the current chair of the African Union.
During the summit, key stakeholders, including heads of state, development partners and private sector participants came together to mobilize financing to harness Africa’s food and agriculture potential.
Around 34 heads of state, 70 government ministers, the private sector, farmers, development partners and corporate executives participated, including Irish President Michael D. Higgins.
Objectives of the Summit:
- Mobilizing high-level political commitment, development partner support and private sector investment around production, markets and trade to increase food production in Africa.
- Share successful food and agriculture experiences in selected countries – Experience of increasing agricultural productivity through climate-adapted adoption
Crop, livestock and aquaculture technology, advisory services and breakthrough innovation platform. - Inspire national governments, development partners and the private sector around
Food and Agriculture Distribution Compact for each country to achieve large scale food security. - develop the necessary infrastructure and logistics with specialized agro-industrial
processing area Creating markets and competitive food and agriculture value chains.
