Our Press Release made on 23 June 2014 (yesterday) is still valid.

The food and hygiene materials for 3,000 families provided by the Turkish International Cooperation and Development Agency (TIKA) will be distributed today (24 June) in Tilkeyf and its vicinity. On the other hand, the Turkish Red Crescent’s plans for making additional humanitarian aid shipments to the displaced people in the Sinjar region are underway.

Our humanitarian aid activities for the region which are conducted under the coordination of the Prime Ministry Disaster and Emergency Management Agency (AFAD) and our Consulate General in Erbil, and which include the Turkish Red Crescent and TIKA, will continue. AFAD, the Turkish Red Crescent and TIKA teams assigned on site to ensure the coordination in the distribution of our humanitarian aid compile the humanitarian aid requests and the aid is distributed to those in need in accordance with these requests.

Necessary efforts to ensure the return of all of the Turkish citizens kept in Iraq, safe and sound and as soon as possible, are being conducted in a sensitive manner. The Turkish Embassy in Baghdad is continuing to conduct the efforts for ensuring the safe return to Turkey of our citizens in Iraq. In this framework, our relevant units have been rapidly answering the demands of information and support submitted to the Crisis Center based on the currently available information and in spite of the extraordinary circumstances ongoing in Iraq.
