Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC) Namibia attacks King Mswati 111 for the brutal murder of lawyer and human rights defender, Thulani Maseko!

Citizens Coalition for Change Namibia is outraged by the continued homicide of lawyers, political activists, students and human rights defenders in Eswatini since 2021. As a pro-democracy movement, we urge SADC, the African Union and the United Nations to investigate. The brutal murder of renowned lawyer and human rights defender, Thulani Maseko.

Thulani Maseko was only fighting for the advent of constitutional democracy in Eswatini. It is not a crime to demand a representative democracy where people are allowed to participate in the national discourse. The people of Eswatini yearn for democratic elections that would see the monarchy sink into oblivion. The Namibian District encourages SADC to condemn this gross abuse of universal fundamental human rights in Eswatini. May the revolutionary soul of Thulani Maseko get power.

This culture of dictatorship in Southern Africa must be opposed equally. All progressive citizens of SADC countries should raise their revolutionary voice against state repression. The ruthless monarchist is the one who sent his hitmen to destroy the lives of our hardworking lawyers and human rights defenders for their cause of advocating constitutionalism as well as the rule of law.

In Zimbabwe in recent weeks, we witnessed human rights defender Kudjai Kadjere brutally assaulted by the captured Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP). Citizens Coalition for Change Namibia condemns both the Harare regime and Mswati’s monarchy for their treatment of social democrats and human rights lawyers. Lawyer Kudjai Kadzere had his hands broken while representing the 26 arbitrarily arrested CCC Budiriro, including Hon Amos Chibaya, Hon Costa Macingouta, CLR Mukwada, Star from Change Radio, and others.

Progressive residents of SADC must stand united against these monsters who do not respect the sanctity of life. Firing two bullets in the head of a lawyer is beyond devilish. We demand justice for Thulani Maseko. These killers should be brought to justice. Mswati and his ruthless counterpart in Zimbabwe must face the wrath of the social democrats. Sad to inform the world that since 14th June 2022 Hon Job Saro Wiwa Sikala is still lodged in Chikurubi Maximum Security Prison on false charges. Sikhla has now endured imprisonment for over 7 months for demanding justice for the abducted Ali. and was later murdered in cold blood by a ZANU-PF thug, Pius Jamba.

The fight against lawyers should be thwarted at its initial stage. Ayub Sikhla, representing the Ali family, was arrested. He was both the family’s spokesman and attorney who led the successful pursuit of Morblessing Ali. We demand justice for all political prisoners. Rest in peace Thulani Maseko, your blood will water the tree of freedom. Maseko was shot in the presence of his wife and children after the king issued a stern warning to those advocating the democratization of Eswatini.
