Pakistan High Commission Canada marks Kashmir Solidarity Day – Ministry of Foreign Affairs

Pakistan High Commission Canada arranged a series of events including illustrated exhibitions, webinars and road shows to mark Kashmir Solidarity Day with the consulates of Pakistan in Toronto, Vancouver and Montreal.

The day began with Acting High Commissioner Shahbaz Malik reading out messages from the President, Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Pakistan, expressing Pakistan’s unwavering support for the right of self-determination to the people of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK). was repeated. Later, after the revocation of the IIOJK’s special status in August 2019, an illustrated exhibition was organized at the High Commission to highlight the various atrocities committed by Indian forces against defenseless Kashmiris and the reign of terror.

During the day, office-bearers and members of the Kashmir Committee Ottawa organized a protest in the Canadian capital to highlight the Indian brutalities in the occupied Kashmir Valley, and to call on the government and Canadian people to support the legitimate demand of Kashmiris. called upon. for their inalienable right to self-determination. Carrying placards and posters in support of Kashmiris, protesters also joined local Canadians in a campaign organized at the Human Rights Memorial in Ottawa to protest injustice and discrimination against various communities around the world.

Meanwhile, the Consulate General of Pakistan Toronto arranged an illustrated exhibition as well as a webinar to highlight the Indian oppression at IIOJK. A truck carrying various themes of Kashmir Solidarity Day also passed through the city through huge electronic screens mounted around the trailer. Similarly, an illustrated exhibition and two separate webinars were arranged by the Consulate General of Pakistan in Vancouver.

Local ethnic television and radio channels including Toronto 360 TV, Canada One TV and Evaz also run dedicated programs and documentaries highlighting the human rights abuses at IIOJK.
