President arrives in Niamey, Niger: AU Heads of States Summit on Industrialisation on today

President Mnangagwa has arrived in Niamey, Niger, West Africa to attend the African Union (AU) Heads of State and Government Summit on Industrialization and Economic Transformation, which begins here today.

He was received at Diori Hamani International Airport at 6 a.m. Zimbabwe time by the Prime Minister of Niger, Ouhoumadou Mahamdou, the Minister of Industry and Commerce, Dr. Sekai Nzenja, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Trade, Dr. Frederick Shawa and the Zimbabwean Ambassador to Nigeria Kiya, which also covers Niger. , M. Ranga.

The President left Harare at midnight and was seen off at the Robert Mugabe International Airport by Vice President Dr Constantino Chiwenga, cabinet ministers, senior government officials and service chiefs.

This year’s summit is being organized under the theme: “Industrialization of Africa: A renewed commitment towards an inclusive and sustainable industrialization and economic diversification”.

It is part of Africa Industrialization Week (AIW – 20-25 November 2022), annual commemorative activities aimed at highlighting Africa’s renewed determination and commitment to industrialisation.
