Ruto Attacks Raila Over His Remarks on a Popular Fish Joint

Vice President William Ruto on Monday 23 May presented Azimio La Umoza One Kenya’s presidential flag bearer Raila Odinga as R.The marks they made after having lunch at a popular fish joint in Nairobi.

Speaking during a rally in Muranga County, Ruto accused Odinga of undermining the micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) through which the youth earn a living.

He argued that Raila was out of touch with the plight of young people in the country, whom he defended, turning to business to help them.

“Yesterday’s (Sunday) Man kitendavilik Said that graduates should not engage in business through MSMEs. I want to tell you to close this with arrogance and disdain, you do not know the problems of the common man,” he remarked.

The DP granted exemption saying that many degree holders were doing business and did not require the alleged protection of the ODM leader. Instead, youth need ways to improve their businesses and make them more profitable, he said.

,Lots of graduates are in MSE and does not require protection. They need a means to expand and grow their business—and if you don’t have a plan for them, we have one in Kwanzaa, Kenya.”

Ruto’s remarks came after the former prime minister spoke about his experience at the popular fish joint while addressing supporters in Narok County on Sunday. However, he noted that the owners decided to venture into the business due to unemployment.

Raila promised that he would tackle the issue of unemployment if he and his partner Martha Karua were declared winners of the general election to be held on 9 August.

He said, “We went to a restaurant in Nairobi that had students who had completed their university education but didn’t have jobs. They should get what they deserve.”

On 10 May, the High Representative of the African Union for Development promised to create 14 million jobs in the informal sector. He said that he would achieve this through the implementation of the Recognition of Prior Learning policy.

He said, “The RPL policy framework provides for the identification of knowledge, skills and competencies, irrespective of where and how they were acquired. It is a progress map to facilitate the transition of skilled workers from informality to formality. “

Odinga said that for the longest time, millions of Kenyans have suffered at the hands of well-connected certified People who exploit their skills.

He said the certification will cut out middlemen and ensure that workers earn what they are entitled to.
