Sophie Clavier | Department of International Relations
Biography
Sophie Clavier is the current Associate Dean of Faculty Affairs and Professional Development. He has been at SF State for more than 20 years in various roles including lecturer, professor, graduate coordinator, academic senator, department chair of International Relations and most recently associate dean of the College of Liberal and Creative Arts. Sophie earned her Ph.D. in International Public Law from the University of Paris at the Sorbonne in 2004. Sophie is a highly respected teacher, scholar and administrator. In 2014, based on an 18-year record of outstanding teaching, he received the SF State Distinguished Faculty Award for Excellence in Teaching. His scholarship and publications have been in the areas of international law, peaceful resolution of international disputes, and international human rights. He has a long record of engaging with our campus community at all levels of the university.
