Women, Peace and Security: Ministerial-level Open Debate Held

Mr. Enkhbold Vorshilov, Mongolia’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations, took part in an open debate held in anticipation of International Women’s Day. In his address, he reaffirmed Mongolia’s effort to ensure the implementation of UN Security Council Resolution 1325 (2000), which is a great impetus to advance the Women, Peace and Security (WPS) programme.

In addition, Mr. Enkhbold highlighted plans to regularly hold a “Women’s Peace and Security” conference, which was held in Mongolia every five years in June 2022, to discuss its challenges for women peacekeepers. A platform has been created to interact and exchange experiences.
